Ryan DiPietro grew up water skiing and wakeboarding on a lake in Massachusetts. But everything changed when a friend invited him to try wakesurfing for the first time.

Where It All Started

Ryan had spent years behind a boat, so he already knew the thrill of riding. But the moment he dropped the rope and realized he could surf endlessly behind the boat was unlike anything he'd experienced before.

"The moment that got me hooked on wakesurfing was definitely dropping the rope for the first time. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face."

That first ride sparked a passion for progression. Not long after, Ryan landed his first 360—a trick he still remembers because he could hardly believe he pulled it off. Today, his favorite trick is a front 3 shuv.

"When it comes off clean, it feels so good!"

Growing Up with Tigé

Ryan's progression as a wakesurfer has gone hand in hand with his family's journey through four Tigé boats, each one arriving as they were ready for the next chapter.

When Ryan started getting serious about wakesurfing, his family purchased a 2019 Tigé R21. From there, they moved into a 2022 Tigé Z3, a boat Ryan describes as unforgettable and filled with some of his favorite memories on the water. Today, Ryan and his family surf behind a 2026 Tigé Z3, his favorite boat they've ever owned.

"Now we have our 2026 Z3, which is easily my favorite boat we've ever owned. Such a great surf boat and an incredible lake boat."

Along the way, one feature became something Ryan says he couldn't imagine boating without: the surf locker. Keeping boards and wet gear tucked away keeps the cockpit dry, organized, and ready for the next set.

"People often glance over the surf locker, but once you own a boat with one and experience the convenience it brings to your day on the water, you'll understand it."

For Ryan, it's not just the boats that have kept his family coming back to Tigé.

"One thing that always kept us coming back to Tigé was the dealer support and customer service we experienced. Whenever something came up, it was always addressed quickly and efficiently, so we never really missed much time on the water."

Just as important has been the sense of community that comes with ownership.

"The family feel of being a Tigé owner is something that's hard to describe. It truly feels like you're connected to everyone else who owns one."

Life on Lake Winnipesaukee

Ryan spent his childhood summers vacationing on Lake Winnipesaukee in Laconia, New Hampshire, before moving there full-time with his dad a few years ago. With its countless islands, quiet coves, and wide-open water, it's the perfect place to chase glassy conditions.

"I love this lake because it's so big and there is always a spot to find calm water between islands or in a cove."

What's Next

Although Ryan has spent countless hours surfing on Lake Winnipesaukee, one destination still sits at the top of his bucket list.

"I'd love to surf at Lake Powell. The canyons look insane, and the views there look unbelievable. I definitely need to make time to take a trip there soon!"

From his first ride behind a Tigé to becoming a Team Tigé ambassador, Ryan's journey has always been about progression. Every new trick, every new boat, and every summer on the water has reinforced why he fell in love with wakesurfing in the first place—and why he's excited to share that passion with others.
