Dominic Lagace: Wrapping up the 2013 Season

Dec 09, 2013

After an amazing time with the Tige Crew in Reno, it was time to fly to Dallas for the DFW Wakesurf Open. Open amateur surfers battled it out at DFW Surf on Lake Lewisville. We saw some great wakesurfing from riders coming as far as Houston and San Antonio. While most contests allow for two passes and four total falls, contestants were stoked to find out that they had ten total minutes of surf time.

The weather was horrible for my last few days in Texas, so it was time for me to finally fly south to the beautiful beaches of Mexico, where I spend my winter surfing in the ocean and having fun with friends there. I have been surfing for more than 10 years. Surfing is a very hard sport that demands commitment, a strong body, but maybe the most important part is a very strong mind. We need to know the current, the tides, the swells, the winds, even the moons… Surfing is a big part of my life, and for sure helps my wakesurfing.

I have been to Mexico for the last 4 years to get warm waves and fun times. It’s always nice to relax after a very intensive summer, full of contests and traveling. I’m very happy with all the winnings that I had this year, and I’m sure the next year is going to be better…

Thanks so much to all of my supporters and sponsors: Tige Boats, Liquid Force, S3 Boardshop, Rip Curls, Drummondville Marine, Hi-5 Wakeschool, my family and friends, my boat drivers and especially my love, Marina.
